Is this infuriating? See details...
February 26, 2009 - It's a hollow shell game at best. But it does feed one group whom he needs -- labor ... What would have helped is an incentive for people to get rid of credit card debt and car loan ...
- yes it is infuriating... and it makes me mad too :))))yeah I know... but that makes me double mad .. oh grrrrrrr.... we need to vote those guys out..!!!! I dont understand congress ever.... and they say women are fickle and confusing... HA
- TRUE economic stimulus is enabling those who CAN make purchases to do so. The 15K tax credit would have greatly benefitted those who were qualified to buy homes. It seems to me that this stimulus is all about putting cash in the hands of the lowest tax brackets...
- We get what we pay for.........LOL LOL
This bill continues the massive debt overhang that triggered this situation in the first place. In the process it puts a massive debt load on the ledge that will never be paid off, slowly crushing all those underneath in continuous "bailouts." It's like giving an addict more of the drug that is causing their problem in the first place. An endless supply.
Yes it is more than infuriating, because we the people who will pay for this, w/our kids & their kids, have no voice that matters, in this, they say we do, but just do what thy want ,& then tell us, they ar doing it For the People, funny, yeah if it weren't so sad. Keep emailing or calling your congress person, 202-224-3121, thanks, seems to be the only voice we have,
That provision did not buy more votes for Democrats. It did not benefit the loyal Democrat constituencies. Is wasn't on the Democrats' long standing wish list that cannot get passed in normal bill. (http://online.wsj.com/article/SB123310466514522309.html -- a bit old but the bill is still basically the same stuff.) ... ... Actually, right now real estate and most other investment vehicles are "on sale". It is a buyer's market. What would have helped is an incentive for people to get rid of credit card debt and car loan debt and such. That would free up income for folks to save for a down payment and to make mortgage payments. I think a tax deduction for principal payments on such consumer debt would have been a good incentive.
- Didnt part of that bill state that people were responsible for paying back their assistance after a certain period of time? I think them turning it down will help people shop for something they can actually afford.
We all see things that we would like to have included, or excluded. The primary objective of the compromise between the house and senate was to get the total below $800 billion. We still have the FED and the treasury working on the housing problems. To me, the top priority is to reduce the job losses within the next 2 or 3 months. Over half a million jobs a month, for 3 consecutive months, is a disaster in my opinion.
i no longer care,, it is darn if we do or darn if we don't. ... I voting the jerks out,, it is time for new young fresh blood. Specialty here in MI> (Gov is a Canadian) ... I will not vote for anybody who WAS NOT BORN IN THAT STATE TO CONGRESS OR GOVERNOR! ... I think that is what we all should do. ... 18 months till 2010 election.
I do not think their constituents are their main concern, if at all. Reason: Many of their constituents do not keep tabs on what they do. Instead, they fault the president for all of the junk decisions that Congress makes. Just like Bush was blamed for much of the junk Congress did, so will Obama.
