what's the best way to keep your purse safe while shopping?////
April 8, 2009 - Not to have one! Have a small wallet that fits in your FRONT pocket, or a wrist band with a money/credit card pocket in it. This is all you really need.
- Handcuff it to your wrist.
- Personally, I carry a wallet
Keep it zipped. (Which I often don't.) Keep it on your shoulder with your hand on the bag itself. (Don't cross it over your neck like I see some people do -- if someone is going to grab and run, you wind up on the ground....or, worse yet, SMACKED as the thief tries to disentangle it from your body. Here's a very important tip: When one is in the grocery store, latch your purse around the kiddie belt. Honestly, lots of purses are lost in the grocery store as we're studyin' the canned goods. Keep an eye on it as well. ... ... The thing about thieves is that, most often, they commit crimes of opportunity. If you don't look careless and are following some of these tiips, a thief is probably going to just "move on to the next." Nice Q.
- I never take one, I just put my debit card/cash in my front pocket
- keep it on you... like a shoulder bag or fanny pack.... always know where it is and never leave it in the basket and walk away
- Don't go shopping with an woman..................................................................................................................................................................................................................you may not need to take it out at all

I know it sounds harsh, but do we really need everything we carry in a purse? It is a great exercise to do without for a day or two, or try for a week. At first, we fill insecure, as though our stuff made us more complete in some ways, but soon we feel less burdened. I guess maybe this is easy for me to say because I also chose to live without makeup, so I don't need some place to put things when I am out there in the world. But it seems we create these reasons to carry stuff around - purses exist therefore we have them and fill them and lug them around. Is it really necessary?
- I put the baby strap on the shopping cart through my purse.....one of these days someone will try and grab it.
